Coaching Philosophy
His coaching philosophy is simple: build up and encourage the individual and the player will emerge. He places an athlete-centered focus on coaching, valuing the individual over the player. He uses a holistic approach to development that prioritizes the mental health and well being of the athlete. He considers himself to be a servant leader and uses encouragement, patience, and appreciation to help athletes reach their potential.

About Wade
A California native, Wade Taylor began playing club volleyball in 8 th grade and continued through his college career. He graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2019 with a BA in Mass Communications.
Wade helped establish the menโs volleyball program at The Masterโs University in Santa Claria and was the assistant coach to Allan Vance. In August of 2020 he accepted the assistant coach position of the womenโs volleyball team at Clarendon College (Clarendon, Texas). Returning to California in 2021, Wade served as the athletic director and head coach at New Covenant Academy in LA.
After two seasons there he became the womenโs volleyball assistant coach at California State University โ Los Angeles. The Golden Eagles made it to the NCAA Division II semi finals in 2022 and in 2023 won the National Championship. Wade coached Emily Elliott, AVCA 1 st Team All-American, and Iane Henke, AVCA All- American Honorable Mention. He began coaching for Sunshine Volleyball Club in 2023.

Wade loves helping players take that next big step, getting recruited by a college, and to continue their success after they have finished playing volleyball.
His two adult daughters are constant sources of joy in his life. He is thrilled to be able to follow his passion for coaching. It provides him with an unending source of purpose while allowing him the opportunity to be creative and encourage people every day.
