Why Sunshine?

The Sunshine Volleyball Club is dedicated to creating a nationally recognized instructional volleyball program that maximizes the potential of each of its athletes.

 

We strive to teach the fundamentals of volleyball at their highest level.

 

Our rigorous, highly competitive program prepares our teams for success at the national level.

 

We take pride in our club’s unique atmosphere, one that fosters a true sense of family within a highly competitive environment.

 

The ideals of hard work and family are the bedrock of the Sunshine Volleyball Club, and will continue to be what separates our club from the rest.

 

Sunshine Volleyball has grown to become the #1 girl’s volleyball club in Southern California, with 25-plus teams and record numbers of Junior National bids every year.

 

Sunshine consistently has teams in every age division ranked in the top ten in Southern California, and competing at the highest level in National competitions.

How do i get my child started?

  • You can drop in.
  • Email Bailey and drop in on Peewee Clinic or email us.
  • Summer Camp
  • Try a clinic! If tryouts passed, we allow trial practice for everybody.

I live on the westside, how do I get my child started?

There’s a Sunday night clinic from 4pm-5:30pm for 1st through 6th graders, and 5:30pm-7pm for 7th -10th graders.

There’s a Sunday night clinic from 4pm-5:30pm for 1st through 6th graders, and 5:30pm-7pm for 7th -10th graders.

When does it start? When does it stop?

For 14 and unders, after tryouts, the season begins the first weekend in Oct.

 

For 15 and above, after tryouts, mid July.

What are the weeks of summer camp?

Summer camp start in mid June.

When do clinics start?

Clinics start mid June through beginning of Oct.

What age group does she play in?

AGE DIVISION DEFINITIONS 2022-2023 SEASON

Once a player participates (including but not limited to practicing, training, attending workouts and/or competing) in a club or varsity program for any university, college, community college, or junior college, he/she is ineligible to take part in any regional and national programming, which includes but is not limited to national JNC qualifying and championship events.

 

18 and under division

  • Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2003 or
  • Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2002 and
  • a high school student in the 12th grade during some part of the academic year.

17 and under division – Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2004
16 and under division – Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2005
15 and under division – Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2006
14 and under division – Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2007
13 and under division – Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2008
12 and under division – Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2009

Not sure what age division you should try out for? Simple. Just figure out how old you will be next year on July 1, 2023. You are eligible to play in that age group or an older age group. Players are allowed to play up in an older age division, but are not allowed to play down in age. The birth date cut-off set by USA Volleyball is September 1.
