About Hanna

It’s no surprise that Hanna Klein grew up playing volleyball. She attended Marymount High School for the Sailors all four years; during her junior and senior years, the team advanced to the CIF quarterfinals. She also played three years beach volleyball for Marymount. Every year, from 2013 through 2016, her Sunshine Volleyball Club teams qualified for the Junior Olympics.

In 2016 her team medaled at the Colorado Crossroads. She was recruited by the University of Notre Dame (South Bend, Indiana). As a freshman at Notre Dame she played in six games, posting 83 assists and 29 digs. Returning to South Bend the following year she elected to step away from playing and concentrate on her academic pursuits. She graduated in 2020 summa cum laude with a degree in Industrial Design and a minor in Anthropology.

She began coaching for the Sunshine Volleyball Club when she was 17, assisting various head coaches. The 2023-2024 season marked her debut as a head coach. Hanna coaches to the highest performance level on her team and continues to raise the bar as the players improve. She believes practices should progressively challenge the players but at the same time engage them, so they come back wanting more. She loves it when it’s time for the practice to end and team members beg to keep playing, a sure sign that the practice was engaging and fun.

She loves to see how far the players improve over the season. After working for three years at a luxury interior design firm Hanna is transitioning into the field of education through the master’s program at Pepperdine University. She has a wide variety of interests outside of volleyball: cooking, needlepoint, working out, meditating, and fostering dogs.
