Coaching Philosophy

Demonstrate a love and discipline for the game in such a way to inspire the athletes to develop the same love and discipline.

About bailey

Bailey Jefferson was a four-year starting libero at Manvel High School. She also played for the Texas united volleyball Club (formerly the Pearland Juniors) for five years, earning two bids to the Junior Nationals. She played libero/DS for Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA from 2015-2019. After graduating with a BS in Psychology Bailey relocated to Los Angeles.

She began her coaching career in 2015 with the Texas United VC. In 2019 she was the head volleyball coach at Notre Dame Academy Middle and Lower School. That same year she also began coaching for Sunshine VC; she is currently the head coach/director of the PeeWees/Juniors. From spring 2019 – fall 2020 Bailey was head middle school volleyball coach of both the boys’ and girls’ teams at Geffen Academy (UCLA).

Bailey believes her job as a coach is to demonstrate a love and discipline for the game in such a way to inspire the athletes to develop the same love and discipline. She passionately believes you get out of it what you put into it and players must show up every day to practice with the intention of improving, even if it’s only 1% better.

She loves the excitement and sense of accomplishment that shows on a player’s face when they finally master a skill.

Bailey is a school counselor at a middle school and is working on her MA in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University. In her free time, she loves hot yoga, going to the beach, and watching Lifetime movies.

“I always try to start out with some type of goal.

Then I work backward and think of what I need to do to get there,
and give myself smaller goals that are more immediate.“
