About Lorraine

Lorraine Provost-Vellutato played volleyball and swam competitively in high school. She was MVP and received 1st team league honors in volleyball and was 1st in the US Sprint Freestyle. At UCLA she was on the swim and water polo teams. She played beach volleyball and was an All American for indoor volleyball (USAV).

After completing her BA and MA at UCLA Lorrie taught special education for 40 years. She also coached volleyball for numerous schools and clubs, including Crossroads School and Marlborough. She coached the USC Womenโ€™s Club team for four years and was program director as well as head coach for the Geffen Academy at UCLA. Lorrie also coached the Special Olympics team.

Her coaching philosophy is that any individual who has a desire to learn is coachable and a coachable athlete has the innate drive to be better. She believes the way to be better in any sport is to never stop leaning.

Lorrie strives to improve the quality of play in each athlete. She loves seeing the transformation in her players.

She is extremely proud of her two children. During her tenure as a teacher, Lorrie received the NBC Crystal Apple Award.
