Train skills intensely. Games should be easier than practice!

About Lenka

Lenka Jamrichova grew up in Santa Monica and played volleyball at Santa Monica High School and with both the Bayside Volleyball Club and the Sport Shack Volleyball Club. She was the setter for the Lees McRae College (North Carolina) volleyball team. The team won the conference championship and made the NCAA Sweet 16 all four years she played. She was named to the 2003 NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament team, was conference player of the year in 2004 and conference MVP in 2003 and 2004. Lenka graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. In 2021 she and her partner took 2nd place in the Spring National Beach Volleyball Organization Monday Night League.

This is her 14th season coaching for the Sunshine Volleyball Club and the 12th with the 12-Westside team. Her teams have qualified for the Junior Nationals by winning the Pacific Northwest Championship (2011), Southern California Volleyball Association (2013), and the Midwest Championship (2016); the 2012 team (qualified on a regional bid) went on to win the bronze medal at the JOs.

Lenka’s coaching philosophy is based on ability, motivation, and attitude. Ability is what the player is capable of doing, motivation determines what the player will do, and attitude determines how well the player does it.

She loves seeing what the players at such a young age can achieve.

Lenka lives in Venice with her fiancée and her cat, Zak. She enjoys spending free time going to the lake and the beach, snowboarding, and playing volleyball.

“You should never stay at the same level.

Always push yourself to the next.

“You’ve got to be confident when you’re competing. You’ve got to be a beast.”
