Josephine Treadwell

Experience

Former Harvard-Westlake varsity volleyball and beach volleyball athlete, earning three varsity letters in each sport.
Helped lead Harvard-Westlake to a league championship and a CIF Division 1AA Runner-Up finish, while earning Mission League First Team and LA Daily News All-Area Second Team honors.
Played club volleyball for LAVA (formerly SMBC) and Sunshine Volleyball Club, earning a medal at the Colorado Crossroads Qualifier.
Four-year starter as a defensive specialist and libero at Davidson College, serving as team captain during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Earned Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition throughout her collegiate career and was named to the Wildcat Classic All-Tournament Team.
Graduated cum laude from Davidson College with a degree in Economics and a minor in French.
Brings a strong background in leadership, high-level competition, and athlete development.
Returned to Los Angeles after teaching in Chicago and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Urban Planning at University of California, Los Angeles.
Most recently earned a silver medal in the Open Division at the 2025 USA Volleyball Adult National Championships.
Excited to return to Sunshine Volleyball Club and help athletes continue developing their skills, confidence, and love for the game.

About Josephine

Josie earned three varsity letters in both volleyball and beach volleyball at Harvard-Westlake. She helped capture a league title and CIF D1 AA Runner-Up Status in 2013. Josie was named Captain during her senior season and earned Mission League All-League First Team and LA Daily News All-Area Second Team in 2015. Josie’s club career started at LAVA (formerly SMBC) when she was 9 years old. Later, she joined Sunshine where her team medaled in 2016 at the Colorado Crossroads Qualifier.

Josie was recruited by Davidson College where she started all four years as a defensive specialist and libero. She earned Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll each season and was elected team captain for both 2018 and 2019 seasons. Her senior year, Josie was named to the Wildcat Classic All-Tournament team after compiling 46 digs in three matches and led the team with 23 aces and 394 digs.

After graduating from Davidson College cum laude with a B.A. in Economics and Minor in French, Josie moved to the Midwest to join Teach For America’s Chicago Cohort. After 5 years in Chicago, she is now back in LA pursuing her Master’s in Urban Planning at UCLA. She is excited to be back at Sunshine to continue helping players evolve and grow their game!

Most recently in 2025, Josie earned a silver medal in the Open Division of USAVB Adult Nationals.
