About Herb

Herb Cudiamat played multiple sports at Peral City High School, including volleyball; his team won the OIA (Oahu Interscholastic Association) League Championship. He played on a club team at Loyola Marymount University while obtaining both his BS and MS in Civil Engineering.

He has over 10 years of coaching experience for boys and girls, across all age levels. He assisted for two years with the boys’ JV team at Notre Dame High School. He coached for six years at St Anastasia’s School where his team won the girls’ CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) Championship. This is his fifth season coaching a Sunshine team.

Herb’s coaching philosophy is that it is important to build the player’s character and their confidence in order to have the best player possible.

He loves seeing that moment when a player puts everything together and it all “clicks” for them and when past players continue to advance in their playing abilities.

Herb has two children that have inherited his love of the sport. His son, Jacob, is the setter for the team at Cal Lutheran and his daughter, Ashley, also a setter, has committed to DePaul University (Chicago) for the fall.

“You should never stay at the same level.

Always push yourself to the next.“

“The potential for greatness lives
within each of us.”
