Florโ€™s coaching philosophy consist of providing an environment where athletes feel confident enough to find their own approach to the sport while continuing to develop the fundamental skills. Each athlete is unique and has different strengths and approaches to learning. Her goal is to guide them into the best volleyball player they can be.

About Flor

Originally from Argentina, Flor Porras moved to San Jose in 2014 and soon began playing indoor volleyball. She played with several different clubs before joining her varsity high school team for the next four years. She discovered beach volleyball at 15 and has been playing competitively ever since.

She has four yearsโ€™ experience coaching both indoor and beach volleyball, including time the the Mountain View Volleyball Club in Sunnyvale, CA.

After graduating from Branham High School Flor attended West Valley College and was one half of their #1 beach team. They reached the finals in the CCCAA Beach Volleyball Pairs Championship in 2022 and was named to the Two-Year College Womenโ€™s Beach Volleyball Players to Watch list by the American S Coaches Association. This year Flor will be attending Cal State Northridge having been recruited to play D1 Beach Volleyball for them.

Her goal is to guide them into the best volleyball player they can be. She loves being able to provide the players with different perspectives and ways of looking at the game. Most of Florโ€™s family are competitive athletes, some having played professionally. She loves music and languages; she speaks three languages.
