About Austin

Austin Matuatia began playing volleyball at the age of six and never stopped. He was a four-year varsity letterman at Moanalua High School in Honolulu, HI. He led his team to third place in the Hawaii High School Athletic State Tournament three years in a row; his senior year they finished second. He was the only public high school player named to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Fab 15 four times.

In 2015 and 2016 he was named a High School All-American. Austin was an HHSAA/Enterprise Hall of Honor inductee in 2016 and was the #4 recruit in the Class of 2016. He was also playing club volleyball, playing for A’oaKoa, Hawaii Elite Southside, Ku’ikahi, and the Ka Ulukoa volleyball clubs. While with the Ka Ulukoa VBC his team won the gold at the JOs twice, (15s and 16s Club Division) and he was named MVP both years.

When not playing volleyball, he enjoys trying new sports and competitive gaming. He has a Boxer/German Shepard/Pit mix named Cleo.
