About ashley

Ashley Lau played two seasons (2007-2008) of volleyball at Riverland Community College in Austin, Minnesota while studying Human Performance and Cosmetology. She also attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating with a BS in Health and Wellness Management.

She began her coaching career in 2011 as the assistant coach at Riverland Community College. Relocating to Virginia, she was the JV coach and the assistant varsity coach at West Potomac High School in Alexandria from 2015-2017.

During those years she also coached 17/18s and 15s for the Arlington Elite Volleyball Club. Returning to Minnesota, she coached for the Minnesota Northern Lights Volleyball Club (2017-2019). In 2019 Ashley was the head coach for the team at Riverland Community College. She started coaching for the Sunshine Volleyball Club in 2020. This year she will coach two teams.

Ashley’s coaching philosophy is if you have knowledge, pass it along to those who do not. It is the coach’s job to give athletes the tools they need to succeed on and off the court as well as creating experiences they will remember throughout their lives.

She loves to see how fast new players pick-up a skill and the excitement on their faces when they realized they did it.

Ashley lives in Marina del Rey. She plays both indoor and beach volleyball. When she isn’t on the court she enjoys hiking with her friends.
