About alex

Alex Ramirez played volleyball at Venice High School; they were the 2014 Western League runners-up. He went on to play for Santa Monica College, where he is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology.

He was a volunteer assistant coach at Santa Monica College from 2017-2019. This is his sixth season coaching for the Sunshine Volleyball Club.

Alex’s coaching philosophy is to help individuals progress and grow into the next level competitor, through challenge, commitment, character, and enthusiasm.

He loves interacting with the players and being able to lead them to improve and grow, pushing them enough to challenge their abilities.

From an early age Alex has been involved with sports, playing basketball, football, soccer, and of course, volleyball. He is an avid beach volleyball player and has been mentored by two professional players, Karl Owens and Elaine Roque.
